Official Sim Racing Thread

Make sure to get a go-pro for your helmet ;)
I mean it's happening if it hasn't already...considering how awesome that whole setup is...a 4K Video of 8K screens w/ a Real Driver...I'd watch it if it got posted. I watched the BMW Shootout already!
Was the BMW shootout shot with a GoPro or a Phone?

I have to ask, how much was the harness?
And...will it be a cheap helmet? Do you have one scoped out already?
At $120, the harness was way more than I wanted to spend on such silliness but I only did so because A) I saved $636 on the seat and B) I really liked the Sim Lab blue color.

I already own three helmets. One from my motorcycle days and two from my HPDE days. So, draw your own conclusions.

Not sure where you're getting the 8K and the plurality of screen from unless you're referring to another rig. I have a single 2K screen. But to answer your question, that clip was recorded with my old GoPro Hero Session 5. I've since acquired an Insta360 Ace Pro that produces a noticeable improvement in picture quality.

It's like Gambler Logic for toys. I LOVE IT!

Whilst I enjoy your matter of fact demeanor, I am simply applying some youthful (I'm not young) boasting for you.
The # of levels above anything I can do is...beyond ludicrous...you've gone PLAID!

YOLO, right? I blame Towen. I was quite content sitting on my couch playing the F1 game with a PS5 controller but Towen said no to that. Now here I am buying FIA approved seats and steering wheels that cost more than a laptop.

Fucking Towen!

Agreed. However, I forget how far your silliness has gone!! Did you get seat shakers? If so, then it is not silliness at all, simply common sense to be well strapped in if you are bouncing over the rumble strips!!!;)

My new seat is so narrow, I practically need to grease my hips to get in and out of the thing. The single ButtKicker is powerless to dislodge me.

I'm doing sessions these days where I start P20 and see if I can make it to the podium in 10-lap races with a required pit stop. So the early pit was a strategy to get me out of traffic because I brake later than the AI drivers do and can make up good ground with a clear track in front of me. Usually. You know, when I don't spin or crash.

As for the tires, they weren't actually changed. There's a known bug in AMS2 single player that doesn't register your pit stop if you change tires and will DSQ you for not pitting even though you did. It's expected to be fixed when they release v1.6. So since the races are only 10 laps, and I don't really need new tires, I just get a splash of fuel and go.

I ditched my beloved BMW M8 GTE in favor of the more POV-friendly Porsche 911 RSR GTE, and I think it paid POV dividends.

Here's an entire 10 lap race at Montreal (or as much of it as I could complete) starting P20.

Sorry, much like Somewhere in Time...the reality of the drive ends when you make a sharp turn and I see your forearms.
Fireproof racing suit must be in your future!!!
