Squeeze Box Distortion Problem!!!!!!

heeman said:
IT'S FIXED AND NEVER SOUNDED SO GOOD.......................

I connected the Digital Coax Connection and OH MY GOD.................My Collection will now sound like it is supposed to.

So the SB must either have a real low quality DAC, or a defect.

Thanks Guys for all of your help!!!!!

I believe the DACs in the Squeezebox are Burr Brown, which are the same ones in your Onkyo. Sounds more like maybe what Yesfan said maybe the Dacs were crapping out in the Squeezebox? One way to find out, hook up analog again as well as your digital and flip back and forth!!

I think it's a matter of something being cranked too high on the analog outputs of the SB. If the headphone OUTPUT on the SB was used, that would be one possible culprit. Either way, it's fixed and to me the biggest lesson to be learned is: If digital is available, use it.
