Ted has said and done a LOT of stupid things. That's for sure.

But are we saying that because he draws attention to himself that he SHOULD be harassed by Federal aggents for unrelated issues?

No saying stupid things does not mean you necessarily should be targeted or whatever but if you are targeted because of the things you say you shouldn't be surprised.

I can stand up in Central City Park here in Atlanta and give a speech touting my desire to blow up the state capitol. I am well within my rights to do so and protected by the first amendment. However if after doing so I find out that I am under constant surveillance and govt agents start asking my coworkers questions about me etc. I shouldn't be surprised by those subsequent events.

...and Huey, everything you do has consequences and repercussions. Surely you realize this fact.

I understand that Jeff, and I agree, he was out of line. I also understand that there are consequences for your actions, and I am not surprised that his events at military bases were canceled. Now if he had criticized the president in a constructive way, rather than the way he did, and the concerts were still canceled, then I would have had a problem.
