What Movie(s) Did You Watch Today?

Thank you for that. I have also seen Das Boot but was not familiar with Tin Drum.
All I remember about it at the time was that it was somewhat controversial because it depicted what amounted to a grown man who appeared as a young boy (stunted growth from trauma of war, etc.) and there was I think a (not graphic) love scene with a grown woman so everyone freaked out about that. But the reviews are generally good and I agree with IMDB in that it should be on the list for benchmark WWII films. I plan to rewatch it soon to refresh it has been decades since I last saw it.

Good summary on Rotten Tomatoes...
Oskar Matzerath is a very unusual boy. Refusing to leave the womb until promised a tin drum by his mother, Agnes, Oskar is reluctant to enter a world he sees as filled with hypocrisy and injustice, and vows on his third birthday to never grow up. Miraculously, he gets his wish. As the Nazis rise to power in Danzig, Oskar wills himself to remain a child, beating his tin drum incessantly and screaming in protest at the chaos surrounding him.
