Who is planning on watching 'The Grammy Awards'?

Grammies!

AC/DC opened, glad to see them on that stage. It looked like Malcom Young was playing rhythm for them, but the cut was so quick I couldn't tell. Malcom has been diagnosed with, Parkinsons?, and had to retire from the band he founded, would be cool if he got to do this. :music-rockout:

Whups, I'm sorry Babs, didn't remember you'd started this post; moderators please merge if you can?

Other than the usual awkward Grammy moments (some much more so than others), there were a number of fine performances tonight. But the highlight, for me, was seeing Beck receive the recognition that he deserves. Given who he was up against, I honestly did not think he had a chance. Chock one up for substance.

I missed the Kayne West out break, the dude should show a little more class.

But, the night was leaning towards race relations anyway. It's understandable, with the year we just went through.

I'm starting to favor the CMT music awards for the music and the Grammy's for the red carpet.

I did not watch this year, but I promise to tune in next year if I can be assured something REALLY BAD will happen to Kanye West.

Why does this waste of oxygen continue to get headlines. Ignore his dumb ass. And, I have never been a Kardashian fan so Kim marrying this tool gives her even less credibility than the rest of them.

"I still love him and think he's (Kanye) genius. I aspire to do what he does. How many great records has he put out in the last five years, right?"

-Beck

Kanye is a great example on why I don't watch the grammys. Sure I would have loved to see AC/DC, but heck, I'll just catch it on YouTube.

Congrats to Beck. :handgestures-thumbup:

I'll be honest here. I think Kanye is a talentless, uncivilized POS, but in the quick clip I saw earlier, it looked like he stormed the stage, approached the mic, and stopped short, turned around, and was laughing, as he meant it as a joke.
That I could almost accept, sorta.

He did. And it was. I really think he was mocking himself for what he did to Taylor Swift. And I gave him props for that. Until I saw an interview with him after the show where he continued his consummate douchebaggery and slammed Beck for not being a "real artist like Beyonce". Real artist? REALLY? Did you see his solo performance last night? That dickfuck used more AutoTune in one song than Nickelback has in 4 albums combined!

I wish I could say it as politely as you did. I'd love nothing more than to be able to hire Suge Knight to take that asshat out!

If you're Kanyé, why even attend the Grammys in any capacity given the way he feels about the process. To him the only artists and winners are who HE feels fits the bill in his mind. Every performer there, nominees, contributing live performers, they're all artists. For him to say Beck disrespected Beyoncé by not giving her the award is a completely classless and disrespectful act in and of itself. Off-the-charts douchebaggery, and his E! comments after the fact only reinforces this.

Another question is, why do the Grammie producers keep inviting him? :angry-tappingfoot:

I had to rewatch it as I thought at first he took the mic away from him. Looking back, I didn't realize that all Beck had in his hand was the Grammy.

Kanye is still a turd. Did anyone see the look on Kim's face as he was running his mouth about Beyonce getting "dissed" on not winning AotY? I think I remember seeing a similar look on Mike Myers' face when kanye was blasting Bush over Hurricane Katrina.

An arrogant talentless hack with more money than sense. I can't stand these types of people.

Anybody else watching????

Zing & Babs are. I am personally looking forward to the Bowie tribute and Adele.

Same here. I must be getting old. I don't know a lot of the performers and l'm not a hip hop person.

I am (only TV show I never miss) but the entire thing has been completely flat for me so far, except for a quickie tribute to Maurice by Stevie Wonder and some vocal group (Spectrasonic?), that was pretty dang good. Sad that at least three of the advertised numbers (White, Bowie, Frey) are tributes.

Zing, does Adele sound just a tad flat all the way through that song to you? :?

^ I am not the expert, as you & my hubby are, but I do listen to A LOT of music, I feel she sounded a bit flat period and I luv Adele.

Rock ON!!! Taylor and Bruno just won huge accolades!
