What Movie(s) Did You Watch Today?

Pompeii. Not terrible if you go in without great expectations of Gladiator. Something on the level of The Eagle.

    Comic Books & Graphic Novels

I gave my eldest son a book on the history of Marvel Comics. I did not realize so many of the characters started in the sixties.

    PS4 or Xbox One?

Have not heard of or seen a single PS4 locally.

    Is a 3DTV worth considering?

I will be interested in reading your impressions.

    Is a 3DTV worth considering?

I believe there will be a demonstration of 3d that do not require glasses at the CES or maybe the next one. That may change the market in time.

    PS4 or Xbox One?

What is the outlook for PS4 availability by Christmas. I am thinking of getting my son one.

    Any Blue Oyster Cult fans?

They were one of the best of the local bands and still put on a good show. I have several of their albums but still consider Secret Treaties the best.

Why did movie rental streaming prices increase?

Things must be cheaper in Minnesota. Movies here are 8-10 not even including IMAX or 3-d.

    Star Trek Into Darkness

Finally seen it tonight. I should have went sooner and seen it in 3D. I rarely go alone but both my sons went already. This is almost enough to buy a 3D set next year. It was terrific. I do not recall when I enjoyed a movie more perhaps Batman Begins. I think Gene Roddenberry would have...

Need to buy a receiver for my son

Clint is very happy with it. He made his way through all the connection assignments and the setup without much difficulty. This is a much more modern receiver than the Marantz SR4001 or even my SR7002. I told him he could now get two SVS subs (but get asked to leave the neighborhood). In time he...

    Game of Thrones

I would guess that book four and the first half of book five would be combined into two seasons (at least) since book four dealt mainly with the characters at Kings landing while the first half of book five concerned the other remaining characters during the time period covered in book four...

    Game of Thrones

I am now about half way through book five, Dances with Dragons. If anyone else wishes to read the books one suggestion: Do not get attached to any character. By book five the only ones left alive that I like are Jon and the Onion knight. The are hundreds of characters in the books. Anyone...

Need to buy a receiver for my son

Just pulled the plug on the Yamaha. I also considered a higher end model from Onkyo at the Accessories4Less site linked earlier in the thread. The Yamaha should fit his needs well and more. Looks like a pretty cool remote control with available apps. The Ipad coonection might appeal to Clint as...
