I've just upgraded the forum software to Xenforo 2.0. Please let me know if you have any problems with it. I'm still working on installing styles... coming soon.
Thanks John. I called Parasound and they sent me a couple of cords for free. The amps do have the auto-sensing feature. My first attempt to get this working was not successful. One amp came on only when I turned the receiver off. I finally got tired and switched it back to manual. I will...
Thank you much for taking the time to explain all this to me. I think using the AC outlet to one amp and using the trigger cord to the other amp from the first amp will work perfectly.
Thanks. I am powered through a switched outlet rather than directly through the wall. I guess I wanted to be able to use my remote to turn on the receiver and have the amps triggered without having to get up and physically flip the switch. I now have to turn on both amps physically and turn...
I have moved to a new location and I am setting up my new room. I have never used the trigger feature for my Parasound amps, and I would like to set this up now. I got my Onkyo 875 receiver working and I am using this as a preprocessor, but it has a 12v trigger for zone 2 only. I would like...
I've had similar experiences, Paul. Don't know which I prefer because they are so different. The sub definitely adds a visceral punch that I don't get with my headphones. My Senn 650s just don't come close to what I get and feel with my SVS PB13, even with the Bifrost and Lyr in the chain...
Unfortunately, the sounds continued with my Onkyo. I just replaced it with a new Yamaha RX-V525 Receiver. So far it seems to be doing a great job.

Dennie, I must have had a similar thing happen to me. Illegal CB or other outside interference. Today, everything seems to be working fine. What a relief.

Yes, watching live TV. The sound was so loud that I am concerned that it may have blown a speaker or could blow a speaker. It was so loud we thought a tree may have fallen outside. Maybe I will try different sources with headphones.
Hey guys,
I would appreciate suggestions on how to troubleshoot my system. Tonight I had loud "electrical" distortion from my system. We were watching TV at normal to low volume when loud thunderous, tree splitting sounds came from nowhere. I could continue to hear the television audio...
I'm getting a strange result when I set "down-mix" on my 980H to 7.1. My Oppo is connected to my Onkyo by HDMI on my 7.1 system. I can stream DSD to my Onkyo for decoding fine with down-mix set to either 5.1 or 7.1. The strange thing is that on stereo recordings, my Onkyo displays...
The HeadFi site can definitely be amusing at times. I feel very lucky to have stumbled across this group on the other site or I might I might be wasting a lot of time thinking about cords and fuses and such.
