    New place, new system

I know a sub's intended use is as a plant stand but we don't have any plants :happy-smileygiantred: It will not be this way for too long. Getting a shelf rack real soon.

    New place, new system

Very good so far. It has all the features that I was looking for. It is an upgrade to the Denon E300 I was using especially for music. The subwoofer integration is much better with YPAO than with the Audyssey of the Denon. And I don't have to reset the freakin network card every other day...

    New place, new system

 Yeah, nowhere else to put it for now. Eventually I will get a cheap shelf system for the components. On the warm side. They have soft dome tweeters. Obviously not great sounding speakers but they are good with movies and decent with music. They are good for the price I paid for the 5.1...

    New place, new system

We took possession of an apartment two weeks ago and yesterday I put together the system that we are going to use here. Nothing fancy, but it will do the job for the 18 months that we'll be staying here. Yamaha RX-A830 receiver Boston A26 front Boston A223C center Boston A23 rear Boston ASW250...

Starting to think about stowing my wall of CD's . . .

I agree with you and Haywood that a simple NAS is a good solution for him.

    New receiver

    There is a 675 but I actually had a 673. My mistake. The 765 you have is a 2013 model I think.

    New receiver

Nothing to do with my network. I had a Yamaha RX-V675 before these two and never had a problem. The network cards on the Marantz and Denon needed to be reset 2 or 3 times a month to be working again. When you reset the network card, it also resets the microprocessor so you have to the setup from...

    New receiver

I got tired of network issues with my Denon E300 (I had a Marantz 6008 with the same issues) so today I ordered a Yamaha Aventage RX-A830 receiver. I chose the 830 over the 730 because of the 7.1 preamp otputs. Planning to add a 3 channel amp in the future. $450 shipped from accessories4less is...

Roku Owners: Still Happy with your Roku 3??

For streaming purposes, the FTV stick is as good as the FTV. You will be very pleased with it.

Which is better Streaming Bluray player or streaming device

Re: Which is better Streaming Bluray player or streaming dev Definitely get the Roku 3. I have yet to see a Smart TV or bluray player that does streaming as well as dedicated streaming devices like Roku or Fire TV.

    Wireless Blu Ray Player Question

Youtube audio is 2.0 AAC and it's low bitrate (128kbps I think).

    PS4 or Xbox One?

Nope. And no word if they will ever implement it.

    PS4 or Xbox One?

Not just in some games. It's for all games. Playstation network now costs $50 a year. No more free online gaming.

    Media Server Question

Storage solutions are still expensive for people with massive collections but when you think that some people pay $4k+ for amps, a nice 8 bay NAS doesn't sound bad :D Do you rip your content 1:1?

    Something New?

Heeman, what are you going to do with those MB Quarts?

    Trouble with receiver

Any reason why you didn't connect the Chromecast directly to the receiver? Your receiver has 6 HDMI ins. His receiver has only one optical input and it is labeled TV Audio. All he has to do is press the TV Audio button on his remote (assuming he has enabled optical audio out in the TV audio...

I'd get the Marantz. HK receivers are not what they used to be.

Any software to automatically add artwork tags to MP3s?

I use DBPoweramp. It was well worth the $50 I paid for it.
