Wow, you gone all meta on me, Zing.
I've been in bands pretty much all my life, and I understand making each song right for that song. Simple question from me, having heard the second track without a doubled vocal and preferring it (myself), I don't want to argue for it if I get the impression people really like it with a doubled vocal. So, the survey says...???
I've listened to about 50 songs recorded by the other producer in the band and I cannot think of a single one where he didn't double the vocals. In my own productions, I have doubled the vocals about 20% of the time and tripled or fully harmonized the entire vocal track about 7% of the time. I think there is a time and place for everything.
What do you guys think about these two songs, specifically? I am still going to add some parts to the arrangement of the second song, but the other producer likes to move fast and live with "good enough".
