What Are You Listening To?

From my high school band days. If you were a trumpet player in the 1970s, Maynard was your man.

I prefer the pop-friendly sounds of Kid N Play, to be honest. But this Public Enemy stuff should hopefully give me an appreciation for the role of the hype man in rap.

I'm really diggin' "Can't Truss It" right at this exact moment.

I'm listening to Brian Wilson rapping!!!!

Is it wrong that I actually kind of like the Beach Boys-sampled rap song?

And here's another song from Brian Wilson's unreleased 1991 solo album, "Sweet Insanity". The bootleg quality over YouTube doesn't make for the best sound, yet for the curious among us it's kind of a treat even though it's nothing groundbreaking.

"Make A Wish" is quite catchy, IMO, but that song was re-recorded for Wilson's 2004 album GIOMH. Still it's interesting to hear how it originally sounded. I like the "woo" part in the original that I think is missing from the 2004 release.
