Love it. But probably wouldn't have known it if not for Guardians of the Galaxy...If you don't like this song...there is something wrong with you. This is one of the saving graces of Spotify!!
I bought All 'n All the summer between HS and Freshman year, EW&F almost pushed Chicago aside as my favorite band; then as a freshman I heard Aja on a good stereo system, and Chicago/EW&F had to battle for 2nd/3rd.September is almost over after all!!!!!
The video may make you dizzy but what a great tune!!
You're a youngster, Pauly.Love it. But probably wouldn't have known it if not for Guardians of the Galaxy...
Good memories.Rick Beato just released his "Top Twenty One-Hit Wonders of the 70's"; really brought back memories of Jr High/High School sockhops. And this one, damn it has one of the best bridges ever written, fantastic chord changes!
There's actually a comment from me on Rick's site; somewhere in the late 2000's my band did a gig at the All-Rank's club at Hill AFB on New Years Eve. We opened the night with Never Been Any Reason, and the dance floor was PACKED! That almost never happens in a military club.Good memories.
The one I had NEVER heard of was Never Been Any Reason by Head East. Rick said something to the effect about it was big around the Great Lakes. I was in the middle of the Great Lakes (albeit in another country) and I have never heard this song!!
PS: I Can See Clearly Now is a GREAT song.
Oh man, that made me weep. We broke into this Orleans track as a followup, and kept the dancers in place:One of my younger brothers liked Flat as a Pancake
EweTube just served up the album cut of Windows, with Roger on vox. The chord changes in this song just blow me away, damn near bebop.Windows.
I've always been a huge fan of Todd Rundgren's band Utopia, despite all their warts. Four guys, who collectively played dozens of instruments, all wrote songs, all sang lead, all sang harmonies, over some very complex pop/rock tunes (I got to see them live twice, the first was the loudest concert I've ever attended; sad).
This song was one of the two great songs written by keyboardist Roger Powell (the other being Caravan; the rest of his material was sh*t.) Kasim Sultan sang here. He's easily the most under-rated bassist/vocalist of modern times; I rank him right up there with McCartney and Sting. Prove me Wrong.
Sadly a poor recording, but I hope you can recognize that this was live, no overdubs/editing, no background singers, just four incredibly talented musicians playing as a Band!
