What Movie(s) Did You Watch Today?

I've claimed a few times that the last movie I saw in a theater was Spiderman I, but I know I've seen this one too:

Great fun!

I just loaded Battlestar Gallactica season 4.5 onto my notebook to watch while flying around Europe. This is the last season, and I haven't seen a single episode, yet.

This was good flick!

Thanks, Tee, watched this one tonight and I agree, it's very well done. Seriously thought-provoking, when I consider how annoyed I get with various aspects of my own life - then I see this of point of view (assuming there's anything like reality in this movie) and... wow. Gonna have to look up the book this movie was based on.

Good music, too.
I want see this too as its filmed in my beloved Missouri Ozarks. Ive spent so much time hunting fishing and working there its sad what happened there. Meth is king there since sawmill are near gone now and Tyson ruined the chicken farming and hog farms make raising Hog's unprofitable and cattle well its hit and miss. Many the younger generations there turned to making Meth. When the Outlaw Bikers gangs moved to the remote area's of the Ozarks and started up shop it became a very dangerous place. Now you never go up to a farm house to ask permission to hunt unless you know the people but there is so much state and federal land there u can hunt it. I do want to see this movie see if its what i know of my Ozark Mountains.

Finally got around to catching this one. Definitely an Oscar worthy performance from Jennifer Lawrence, but man that has got to be the slowest paced movie I have seen in some time. It was like watching paint dry. Thank god it was only a little over 1 1/2 hrs because I felt like I watched a 5 hr movie...

Oh no not good maybe ill move it down my que list for when i do some painting :D

Batman likes explosions and stuff that drive his subs. Don't mind him. :teasing-neener:

I didn't notice it being slow, I was pretty engrossed for the whole movie.

Well to reiterate, it was the pacing that did the movie in for me...the movie was well-made and well-acted, but for me there was no real payoff after sitting through 100 minutes of watching this girl walk everywhere (well she did run on a cat-walk ONCE and I think rode in a car three times :eusa-whistle: ) and deal with a bunch of weirdo hillbilly rednecks. The little twist at the end in no way measured up with the best of the suspense/thriller genre for me...to each his own I hope if any of you check it out that you enjoy more than me and the wife did.

In addition, I am definitely sympathetic to the protagonist, no one should have to live like that and deal with what life has thrown her. People that aren't blessed much in life and have very limited options due to their family dynamic, saddens me to my core, so I definitely got the message this movie is sending, I just wouldn't feel the need to watch this again. :twocents-mytwocents:

Saw "A Dog Year" with Jeff Bridges about him being a seperated writer who takes in an abused Border Collie (looked exactly like my Border Collie BTW) I found the movie to be completely pointless, dealt a little about is relationship with the dog, the supporting actors were non essential and of little merit to the film and it ended just like that. My GF at the end, was like, What happened? the movie just ended with nothing resolved." Kinda disappointed in this indy film cause I like Jeff Bridges. Also saw "Tangled" cute movie but I only liked the Chameleon and the Horse, other than that I wasn't too impressed. Tonight. "The King's Speech" and Japanese import "13 Assassins" which hasnt been released in theaters but HDNet movies had it early, so I DVR'd it.

Wow, The Kings Speech was such an incredible movie, a movie that didnt need special effects, no guns, no busty beauties, just a great movie based on a great story with fantastic acting. Although the pace of the story was slow, it kept my attention all the way through and wanted me knowing more about Prince Albert (aka King George VI). I highly recommend this movie.

That's cool, I actually have the BD of King's Speech from nf right now, just haven't watched it yet... maybe tonight.

I thought this was great, it was really entertaining and laugh-out-loud funny in certain scenes. Zach Galifianakis is relentless in his idiocy and cluelessness, and Downey Jr has his moments too. The movie doesn't take long to get right to it, as these two meet within minutes and then the laughs begin.

I watched this last night and also thought it was a very good movie. In essence a remake of "Trains, Planes and Automobiles" (though they never marketed it that way). Very funny.

Deathly-Hallows-DVD-cover-2-706x1024.jpg

We all know that the stories got darker as Harry Potter got older, and that Deathly Hallows is the last an darkest.

But that means story line or plot darkness, not "the screen is all black and there might be some movement in the shadows" dark.

I had the urge to turn this off a few times in the first hour but held of to get my Harry Potter fix in and line me up for PT II.

I'm glad I did, in the daylight Hermione is growing up quite nicely
