What Movie(s) Did You Watch Today?

Watched the King's Speech tonight, pretty good. Nice music - the one they played during the main speech is Beethoven's 7th, one of my all-time favorite classical works. Great acting by Firth, I thought. Rush was good, but frankly I don't think he did all that much... The swearing scenes were hysterical!

I've never seen it so I am looking forward to it. :handgestures-thumbup:

Dennie
That movie is great fun! Enjoy.
I sure enjoyed this movie last night. The 6 year old had seen it before, actually many times, but his Grandfather and I had never seen it and really, really enjoyed it.

Dennie, me and the GF both loved this movie, I actually bought it the day after we rented it. Was also an incredible movie to test out all the subs.

Took Mom to see this yesterday. I had read the book and loved it. Good adaptation from the book but like many movies made from books I read it seemed thin but only because they cannot give the detail found in the book.

I liked it and Mom (who had not read the book) loved it.

Reese has some pretty nice costumes in this one.

The King's Speech was good, especially the acting. I can see why it won the Oscar for best picture and best actor. Not everyone is into this genre. The plot (overcoming one's obstacles) is classic and commonly used in books, plays and movies. What set this movie apart is directing and acting. The pace is good for its genre and the beginning really sets the tone and gets your attention. If you've ever made a formal speech in front of the crowd, you will appreciate this movie even more.

Saw this POS tonight, after it was over, my GF turns to me and says, "You owe me two hours of my life back" couldnt agree more. Lord was this bad.

If they ever show the 60's TV show again, it's true to the comic. And Bruce Lee is Kato - he gets a moment every show.

This is a fantastic (and scary) movie about nuclear testing from 1945 to 1962. Footage never seen before by the general public, including the first bomb setoff by the Chinese and the largest nuclear bomb ever tested (by the Russians).

I could be wrong, but I think I saw this a few years back while skimming through channels. Is William Shatner a narrator? If it's the same movie, at the end it shows a bunch a Chinese soldiers charging into the fallout zone, right? If it's the same movie, I remember being pretty entertained and worthwhile to watch.

Edit: looked it up, yes it is the same one I saw a few years back. I found it very informative and entertaining. Good choice Jeff!

Added to the list! :handgestures-thumbup:

EDIT: Well, no, I ordered it; I finally got the year's worth of Free 2-day shipping at Amazon.
This could get expensive... :shhh:

LOVE that movie!!

saw the Mechanic last night, in lieu with the Statham 'redux'...

definitely worthy... apparently it was also the last movie prior to the Deathwish series, and what locked bronson and the director to have a fruitful career together.

Heres the remake poster...

Watched Snatch last night, enjoyed it - even the wife liked it. I admit, though, I had to go back and watch the first half-hour or so again after finishing it the first time, to try to retroactively piece together all the details I missed. Hard to remember everything when you're struggling just to figure out which character is which...

Anyway, good movie. Thanks!

Watched this last night, on bluray (which reproduces 8 or 16mm, 60-year old Kodachrome very nicely... ). I have visited Alamagordo, the Nevada Test Range, Sandia Labs, and Los Alamos (haven't been to Lawrence-Livermore) so this film was a great reminder of a much better time in my life. Really glad I got it.
And, William Shatner hadn't yet... developed... his..... TRADEMARK.... KAHHHHNNN!!!!
