Favorite Albums You Think No One Else Knows About

A buddy of mine posted this a couple weeks ago, was floored but had never heard of him before. Many musicians jumped in singing his praises, so I picked up a copy and wow, its great! Very nicely-crafted chord patterns, good lyrics, kinda reminds me of Nick Drake or Jeff Buckley (sadly, like them, he's dead too; suicide).

This is one of the few disco albums I'll ever bring up. Title cut is the entire Side 1 of the vinyl (I now have it on CD) and if I have to dance to disco, this'll be it thank you very much. Clean recording, very expressive lead vocal, and killer horn charts!

I need to check out more of Smith's stuff. My brother gave me this album for my birthday one year (or was it Christmas? ) and after a couple of listenings, it really grew on me.

I like some of Drake's stuff too. One of his songs is on the Garden State soundtrack (highly recommended, if you don't have it). I saw it used on Amazon for a penny!
