Heeman - Dedicated HT Room?

So, will your speaker be in the path of that door, or in front of it?
What size is your screen?

Does your onkyo have a switched outlet on the back?

Yes the speaker will be in front of the closet door, which will be rarely used.

Have not purchased yet either, 110" or 108" diagonal 16 x 9

No, it does not.

OK. Here's my opinion whether you want it or not. You're going to have to hang a panel on that door (4" thick or so) to help with bass in that corner. Not ideal, but should help. Since your speaker is going to be close to the wall, I feel some form of treatment will be required. Soooooo.......

You have a 12v trigger on the back of your unit..I would think you could assign it to Zone 1 through the menu. If, for some reason you cannot, can you not turn on Zone 1 and 2 (if zone 2 is not in use) when you turn the receiver on? If that's not acceptable, they have "power strips with switched outlets" you can look into that don't cost that much. I would look into each of these options first.

Secondly, I would get an IR repeater (if that's the right name) where you can use your IR remote to access your hidden gear. Thirdly, I would hide your gear behind a panel. Since your gear is going in the wall, I would build a panel (similar to mine) where you hang 1x material as a frame around your rack and hang the panel on that. Use hinges on the panel (small frame around back) so you can swing the panel out when accessing your gear, and close it when watching/listening. Use a magnetic fastener when closing.

I would definitely clean up the appearance that way first.

So being that I am considering the URC Controller, I would not need an IR Repeater, correct?

My first step is to get this damn room functional and then, tune it.

There will be a panel in the correct location mounted one way or another.

Will also have absorption behind and to the side of the Left and Right Fronts.

And of course plenty of bass traps in the rears and corners where they can fit.

Bit of a set back this weekend......101 fever, head and chest congestion.... :angry-tappingfoot:

Today woke up feeling horrible, took some Advil and Musenex, slept for a while and then taped and cut in the black screen wall and rolled the black. The Rossco Paint went on like a dream. In these pic's the paint is still wet, it will dry to a chalky black.

Just ordered the last major ticket item.......

Palliser Elite Love Seat; Power Recline; Grade 1000 Black Leather.

From Stargate Cinema! Great experience dealing with these guys. Spoke to them a couple months ago, David pulled up his notes. Honored the price from 2 months about and save me $200.
