Heeman - Dedicated HT Room?

Nice. So what did you decide to do about the window as far as light blocking?

I am making my own version of the "blackoutez" product. I have a piece of black vinyl that is opaque. I purchased a hook and loop product that has very strong adhesive. This will not allow any light at all to get into the room from that window.

Thanks for all the compliments...............

Still on track to have a functional system up and running late Sunday!!

I was having trouble finding OC 703 2" Panels down here in Deep South Texas....................

After many hours of due diligence, I found a company in Corpus Christi, about 2.5 hours North of here that wanted to help me.

Shipping was going to be a killer, however they have a shipment coming down here today and they will put my 24, 2" thick, 2' x 4' panels on this truck for $25 bucks.

Total charge $224.51.......... $9.36/panel

AWESOME!!

Excellent. I forget where I got mine, but I had to have them shipped. Too damn lazy to look for a local supplier though I probably coulda found one easily enough.

As of yesterday, 5/11/13, The Heeman Home Theater is officially FUNCTIONAL!!! Not complete, however very functional!

Yesterday was a very busy day for us, however the projector mounting went fine, screen mounting good, and of course all the electronics and wiring. Aligning the projector and getting the screen filled properly was a little bit of a challenge, however, I think I have it right.

The surrounds are not mounted yet. I will not mount them until we are set on where the front row will go.

Today is our 23rd wedding anniversary and after some more work around the house/HT we will spend the rest of the day in the theater!

The feeling is just unbelievable!

Some pic's will follow later........................

Here is a a crappy pic, however it is better than none....more to follow.

I think that one of the best things was to paint the screen wall that extra flat black, the picture just POPS!!

Stayed up real late Saturday watching Jeff Beck; Live at Ronnie Scotts and Billy Joel at Shea Stadium.......

Got into a fight with a bottle of Eagle Rare......

Yesterday we watched Jack Reacher......

Barb and I are in shock......................a good shock that is.

A functional system is great however there is still work to be done.

I'm so thrilled for you. I know how much work and effort you've put in.

Holy shit! Look at that beard!! At least come up for some air man!!! :happy-smileygiantred:

Oh, just a thought, but have you considered black outlets and wall plates?

Yup all of that is still on the list as well as black heat shrink for the white speaker cables......

Slowly but surely, the point is that this is now a functional room, not complete yet though.....

I love following along with all the work you are doing. Looking good. Insanely jealous of your just about completed dedicated HT.

You've got to be elated with the outcome, even if it isn't complete just yet. Good on you!

Nice shorts, by the way. :teasing-tease:
