Heeman - WI Basement HT Build

Are those triangular wall gaps going to have to be filled with some sound-deadening material, or can you use it for storage from the outside? Say, for really large wedges of cheese from Sam's Club?

They will be filled with Roxul Comfort bat insulation making nice big bass traps in the 2 front corners.

The angled walls have added quite a few challenges and a lot of extra work. I hope that this all pays off?

Really large wedges of chees from Sams Club would have to have some audible impact. I would think Swiss would be particularly good for diffusion.

Bierisch Cheese is less than 1 mile away...............this place is amazing!!!

Finally got our WI Drivers Licenses and Vehicles Registered today..............I guess we are officially cheese-heads now!

Updates.......................

Insulated the right hand wall. The angled wall will go in front of this wall it will also be insulated.

Got a few sheets of dry wall up. To the right is the wall continuing from down the stairs. The left will actually be inside of a closet.

Mounted the sub-panel. This will be inside the equipment area, which will be inside the closet.

Some electrical and speaker wire run on the front wall.

This will be the front left corner bass trap. Do I fill it completely with insulation??

Lot's of Fun.........

Lot's of Figuring...........

Lot's of aches and pains (both mentally and physically)

Lot's of Why am I angling the walls?

Lot's of measuring, and measuring and measuring again.

Lot's of carrying materials down the stairs.

Not lot's of mistakes.............which is good.

Lot's of cursing, but that is normal.

Lot's of Beer and Bourbon afterwards.

Lot's of..........."THAT'S IT FOR TODAY, I AM SPENT"

Lot's of "Thanks for all you help and support Barb!"

Looking forward to the finished product.

Electrical Wiring is done except for a couple of outlets in the equipment closet.

HDMI cable will be run to the projector today as well as sub-woofer cables.

The rear and front wall insulation is 98%.

Hope to make a lot of progress today and maybe get some drywall up.

For lighting we decided to go with a very basic 1/2 moon sconce. Originally we were going with 6 however due to the entry door and surround speaker we ran out of room at the back sides. So there will be (2) up front on the side walls and (2) across the back wall. Each pair are on their own switch.

We picked out 2 carpets and still undecided. One is very black, put less plush. The other is a similar black to our TX HT carpet (without the pattern), very plush. Will be making a decision soon.

We are still deciding on the black drop ceiling or making our own panels with black velvet.

Where are my Rockin' OMG's????????

Update!

We decided that we needed to eliminate a hose bib since we would no longer have access to the shut off valve. So I cut this pipe and capped it.

Here is the massive amount of insulation for the front right bass trap. 22.5" of Roxul.

We will still have egress in case there is an emergency. We will just have to break through the final panel that will be install.
