Incredible Covers...

I watched a Freddie Mercury biography last night. What a huge talent! I have always appreciated his eclectic & flamboyant style.

I believe Pauly recently added his "Barcelona" CD in the "What Are You Listening To Thread". He accompanied Montserrat Cabelle. There were some awesome interviews with her. He deeply respected her & her talent, was actually mesmerized by it.

Freddie's version of "The Platters" original...

Babs, I caught a bit of Queen documentary last night too. Cant remember the name or channel.

Anywho, Freddie Mercury was a badass.

Just stumbled on this couple on Austin City Limits; wow!

Exactly what I thought. I don't know if it's the huge drop in tempo when they go into the chorus or not, but it's fucking hilarious how much they slow it down in those parts of the song. :laughing-rolling:

From the same combo that started this thread (which needed a bump anyway); I hadn't seen/heard this before.

Flint's recent lament about Taco Bell ruining a Steve Miller song got me to thinking about what Steve Miller tunes I actually like; there aren't very many of them.
I do love Fly Like an Eagle, and then realized Seal of all people did a FANTASTIC cover of it, and here it is!

Damn, that's a weird video! Michael Jordan, Seal, and Bugs Bunny???

Not sure what makes a good cover? They pretty much stick to the formula, nothing wild and crazy. One of my favourite Beatles songs. Oh, and by the way, is it just me or do Siouxsie Sioux and Robert Smith look like they may have been conjoined twins seperated at birth?? Just sayin...

Ok so it's not precisely a cover since it's her own song, but I think this is a nice "casual" solo version of this song. One of my favorites from her latest album. Plus her intro is both meaningful and amusing - you'll see.

I was thinking I had commented on this prior, but I guess that may have been on farcebook ( I stole you line there Botch).

GREAT COVER! I REALLY THINK DISTURBED NAILED IT!!!

I like Disturbed anyway, they put out a couple of my favorite hard rock/ metal albums and this cover confirms what I thought. They freakin rock.

Matter of fact I just fired up the ole hifi and pulled up the youtube on my smarter than me TV and ROCKED that mother...
