So when I was in Vegas a week or so ago, I did my usual used CD shopping trips (to both Zia Records locations). I bought more than 60 CDs in total, plus concert DVDs and BDs.

But how many Joe Banana's did I get?

None. Zip. Zilch. Nada.

Major letdown.

They had very few in their bins and what they did have were ridiculously overpriced compared to everything else I was buying.

From this I can only conclude that Mr. Banana has an extremely loyal and devout group of followers.

Why?

Because they don't seem to be selling their copies (or they'd be in the bins) and my guess is that if Zia slaps a high price tag on them they must know that they'll sell for that price.

Oh well.

Pauly: at the next GTG please bring your collection and I'll burn copies of the damn things!

Jeff (still Banana-less)

Ps to MattB: I've only been to Zia's Vegas locations but I know there's four in the Phoenix area. If you've not already been to one (or all) I'd strongly recommend you do. Heck I'd visit one a week on a rotational basis year-long if I were you. Best used (and new) CD (and more) stores that I've ever been to - and I've been to a lot of them!

That's awesome, Bob! Yeah I'm watching his tour schedule, I wish he were coming a little closer to the Baltimore area this spring, though he just played here in November (and I couldn't make it).

Jeff, sorry you're having such a hard time getting his CDs, and that the Canadian gov't and economy are so poor that you can't afford to get any new CDs. Desperate times, I know.

A little :text-offtopic:

So, as i was watching that video, I was pretty sure that was Coverdale and Glenn Hughes on vocals (never been a huge Deep Purple fan, always like them but never rabid) and I went to Google to search "Deep Purple" and go to Wikipedia and check out the line up graph.

So, as I go to type "Deep Purple" into the search engine "Deepak Chopra" comes up first. Is that really what people are searching. What the hell is wrong with people????

This is based on my assupmtion that search engines make suggestions based on what is searched for most often. If this is wrong someone please correct me.

Well, he has one more hit now, because I've heard the name but didn't know who he was, so I had to look it up:

Deepak Chopra (Hindi: दीपक चोपड़ा; born October 22, 1946) is an Indian medical doctor, public speaker, and writer on subjects such as spirituality, Ayurveda and mind-body medicine. Chopra began his career as an endocrinologist and later shifted his focus to alternative medicine. Chopra now runs his own medical center, with a focus on mind-body connections. He is also a lecturer at the Update in Internal Medicine event, sponsored by Harvard Medical School's Department of Continuing Education and the Department of Medicine.

Randy, You are correct! That is Coverdale and Hughes. Burn and Sormbringer were the two alums with that line up with Blackmore. Come taste the band was wtih Coverdale and Hughes, however, Tommy Bolin played guitar.

I'm sure it was my yogic energy being channeled through this thread and affecting your search results. (and yeah I've at least heard of Deepak Chopra, though am not overly familiar with him)

I posted this elsewhere but should have put it here, joe and west.

Thanks, nats. I'd heard of that gig he did with Jack Bruce, but hadn't watched any of the vids. Cool!

Here is Gary doing it live!

Thanks, heeman. Very nice. I've got the album... haven't watched a live version of that one though, either. Great vid. Joe has always listed Gary as one of his major influences, and I can definitely see the link there.

Cool. They really picked that up fast, it's only been out for a week or so... Let me know what you think!

The version on Palladia is only 1 hour. I hope that the DVD/BR is at least 2 hrs???

I hope to get a chance to watch it this week!
