What Movie(s) Did You Watch Today?

Not quite. In the context of the movie, it's not 12 y.o. Also, it's not real.

I thought it was a good movie even though I'm not much of vampire genre fan.

Watched "Mirrormask" and whoa boy is this movie the most bizarre movie I have ever seen, and trust me I have seen some bizarre movies. I recall during the movie that this movie was a warped version of "The Wizard of Oz" and since the book of Oz was truly bizarre as compared the movie version, I feel this movie would actually be more reminiscent of L. Frank Baum's "Wizard of OZ". but this movie had some of the best special effects I have seen and they are used throughout the movie. In fact its the special effects that tell the story and not the story itself (which I found to be very weak and disheartening.) The movie went at a strange pace and I found myself distracted by just thinking of other stuff going on in my life throughout the movie, then something would happen on the screen that would make my go, "Whoa, cool special effect" I can't really recommend this movie (even though it got great reviews at Sundance and Rotten Tomato's says, "this movie is proof that a movie can be awful and brilliant at the same time") because the story was just all over the place, but if you want a demo movie to show the highlights of HD and special effects than this is right up your alley. I guess the best way to describe this movie to drop some acid, and look at a Salvadore Dali painting while watching "Alice in Wonderland" the Tim Burton version and you will have exactly what this movie is like.

When four corrupt policemen invade a gangster's hideout near Paris to avenge the death of their colleague, they quickly find themselves outmanned, outgunned and trapped. That is, until a legion of vicious zombies swarms through the building. Now, the cops, the crooks and the undead are swept up in a bloody three-way rampage. Yannick Dahan and Benjamin Rocher direct this gore-filled French thriller that stars Jo Prestia and Eriq Ebouaney.

We watched this for the first time. Much different than we could have imagined. We thought it was pretty good!

Charlie Sheen may be no saint, however he was entertaining in this one.

Available via NF streaming. Thought another SH redo would be a bad idea but this BBC series with Holmes and Watson as modern day characters is really very good.

Biggest disappointment is there are only 3 episodes but each one is about 1.5 hours long. If you are a Holmes fan check it out, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Cool, I'm a big SH fan, will check this out.

Watched this last night. Wife and I both enjoyed it. Biggest issue I had was Russell Crowe and Elizabeth Banks don't make a terribly convincing couple...worth seeing IMO though.

Bats I also enjoyed "The Next Three days" but the breakout scene was so unbelievable and your right those two just didnt seem like a great mtach.

Watched tonight. Average entertaining movie. I really like Jason Statham, but he should stick to supporting roles. He just isn't that engaging and lacks depth in his acting required for lead roles. Of course this movie isn't exactly Oscar material either...

i wasnt much of a mel brooks fan, thus pardon the ignorance.

Blazing Saddles is my favorite, there is no way they ever could make that movie today with all the political correctness.

"Scuz me a moment while I whip this out" Matt.

This is my favorite scene in the movie, just LOL hilarious. warning racial slurs and language.

Not to totally go off in another direction, but has anyone actually ever seen quicksand, or experienced it? And did it exist in the "wild west"?

Yes there is or what i would call quiksand and it will scare the hell out of you. I was doing a survey of the shoreline along the Missouri River me and crew mate were in a lil john boat i needed to locate by gps a jetty so he let me out on a dry sand bar he maneuvers back out on the water as i walked the edge the jetty i stepped off onto what looked like dry sand but it was just dry crust under the river was still flowing i sunk to my crotch in the sand when i tried to move i sunk further. I was on other side the jetty and couldn't be seen so i said ok enough this and pulled my work cell phone out of coverall top pocket and tryed to call his got his voicemail he was on phone. At this time im about mid chest and starting to panic I hollered out as loud as could finally he came around in boat saw my predicament and thew rope to me he pulled and tugged till finally i cam out i scurried to the boat on my belly didn't want to get stuck again. I breathed a sigh of relief and thought of the many times Ive walked river shorelines locating on my own if id been alone id have died im sure of it.
