Blazing Saddles is my favorite, there is no way they ever could make that movie today with all the political correctness.

"Scuz me a moment while I whip this out" Matt.

This is my favorite scene in the movie, just LOL hilarious. warning racial slurs and language.

Not to totally go off in another direction, but has anyone actually ever seen quicksand, or experienced it? And did it exist in the "wild west"?

Yes there is or what i would call quiksand and it will scare the hell out of you. I was doing a survey of the shoreline along the Missouri River me and crew mate were in a lil john boat i needed to locate by gps a jetty so he let me out on a dry sand bar he maneuvers back out on the water as i walked the edge the jetty i stepped off onto what looked like dry sand but it was just dry crust under the river was still flowing i sunk to my crotch in the sand when i tried to move i sunk further. I was on other side the jetty and couldn't be seen so i said ok enough this and pulled my work cell phone out of coverall top pocket and tryed to call his got his voicemail he was on phone. At this time im about mid chest and starting to panic I hollered out as loud as could finally he came around in boat saw my predicament and thew rope to me he pulled and tugged till finally i cam out i scurried to the boat on my belly didn't want to get stuck again. I breathed a sigh of relief and thought of the many times Ive walked river shorelines locating on my own if id been alone id have died im sure of it.
Wow. Thanks for the story, Srvy!

Wife put this one in the queue, I was kinda dubious at first but it really was a very well done movie. Definitely worth watching if you want something a little more artsy - but still a good storyline underneath, based on a true story.

Really enjoyed this!! To reiterate my comments in the other thread, I liked it more than any other film in the series so far. Good solid effort by the studio, if you're a fan of the genre you won't want to miss it. Couple things you may or may not have known...Matthew Vaughn directed this who also directed KICK-ASS, and Bryan Singer who directed the first and second X-MEN movies, received a story credit and also was a producer...

Herman I agree Mel plays a man who is half crazy and tormented by inner demons..... You know a real stretch for him. :happy-smileygiantred:

I thought this was great, it was really entertaining and laugh-out-loud funny in certain scenes. Zach Galifianakis is relentless in his idiocy and cluelessness, and Downey Jr has his moments too. The movie doesn't take long to get right to it, as these two meet within minutes and then the laughs begin.

I watched this last night and also thought it was a very good movie. In essence a remake of "Trains, Planes and Automobiles" (though they never marketed it that way). Very funny.

You guys are insane. This was the biggest waste of an hour and a half that I've experienced in a good long while. Ugh.

Ok, there were a few funny lines. Maybe 5. Spread across the whole movie.

Was this not mentioned here? We had a few friend over tonight to watch the remake of True Grit.

Great, great movie. Fantastic performances all around.

Saw "The Adjustment Bureau" last night, was just so-so reminded me of Fringe too much. Also saw "Hall Pass" which both the GF and I loved and was LOL hilarious.

^ watched The Adjustment Bureau also a few nights back...I thought it was okay too, I was under the impression it would be more similar to The Firm so it caught me off guard a bit. I did enjoy though.

Watched "Unknown" with Liam Neson, good (not great) thriller as a man who has an accident and suffers memory loss. I felt this movie was part "Frantic" with Harrison Ford, part "Taken " (also with Liam Neeson) and "North by Northwest" was worth a rental but not buying.

also rented "Just Go with It" Adam Sandler/Jennifer Aniston comedy with some smoking hot curvy blond. Some LOL moments but typical romantic comedy chick flick. Another rental but not to buy. GF asked me if I would lie and go to extremes to bag a babe and I said, "well I got you, didn't I" (truth when I first started dating her, I told her I respected all women and what they do to society) Needless to say it was months before I let her meet my family because she had already fallen for me, before they "informed" her of what a pig I was. :happy-smileygiantred:

Ah, the timeless classics...

This page, where I got the image above via google, is actually a pretty good writeup.

recently rewatched Open Range on dvd...

Man, the best sound quality ever. i love love LOVE the way the thunderstorms roll in and out of the film, and how a subtle, yet powerful thunder clap (and distantly too), can be reproduced.

of course storywise, was amazing. My GF never saw this, and love the film in and out.
