After many years of an older Yamaha receiver, I decided with Black Friday to pull the trigger on the Denon x3800H receiver. I haven't hooked it up yet since I had football and Xmas lights to hang.but I should be doing shortly.
I have a 7.1 setup with an older Yamaha TSR-7790 that I picked up of accessories 4 less back in 2018. My room is multi-use in that behind the seating area is storage for my girls toys, a couple of tables etc.
I had the speakers up higher than I ideally wanted because my girls were younger at...
I watched the new Star Wars in IMAX and as in the past Christopher Nolan dropped a 10 minute or so clip of his upcoming movie Tenet. Dude now I want to see it. Wow.
My mom is getting a TV in a 43" size. She's limited to stores where she is at so she's going with Best Buy. Of the sub $300 or slightly above units in 43" size, what unit is recommended? Both her Samsung and my older Samsung has had issues. So should I avoid another and go with another brand? Thanks
I note many TV's in the 32 to 42 inch range have two feet. My mom needs a new TV but she has a 19"x 10" stand her old tv rested on. Any tvs out there with a stand that can accommodate resting on that size stand?
I had not seen the PCM, Dolby Digital, etc display on my receiver since owning it.
Now when I play a UHD disc on my Sony X1000ES I can't figure out why it indicates PCM. I didn't change the settings that I'm aware of. Now the decoder shows PLIIx. Annoyed right now
I bought these open air headphones many years ago when we lived in an apartment with a baby. I could watch movies using an RCA to mini to a headphone amp to these inexpensive headphones. I could listen to the movies but if the baby cried I could hear her too. Then we were blessed to get in a...
I received the article in a newsletter but apparently it is also online now.

My wife was watching it last night. If these two people are telling the truth, which I have no reason to think they aren't, this is very disturbing on many levels. The parents for giving unsupervised access to their children. The sickening acts by that individual
Possibly a portable solution. Put it up during listening and back down otherwise. Something maybe that can be set on top of the cube storage. Ignore the curtains, they are to be replaced.
I plan to put my new speakers on my existing stands. They are dual sided clamping style from Wali. I don't wish to scratch the finish with the metal on a glossy finish. I was looking at felt tape to put on the inside of each clamp so the felt would be touching the speakers and not the metal...
Looks like Monoprice is going into processing as well. I was hoping they might have something more reasonably priced since I don't need 16 channels. For $4k that is out of my league.
As I mentioned in another post, I am looking at upgrading my surround speakers. I currently have rectangular speakers at the base but the Revel speakers are curved. I am using Wali dual side clamping wall mounts. Would the clamping be sufficient or should I secure them additionally using...
I have been planning this year to get maybe one or two upgrades in but was wondering the opinion of which to do first.
As many of you know, I have the following:
Revel performa3 f206 mains
Revel performa3 c208 center
Paradigm mini monitors v2 side surround
Paradigm atoms v2 rear surrounds...
My friend is looking for a pair of speakers for his computer. But he doesn't want to break the bank. I only have experience with KRK rokits. Any other suggestions? Not sure his specific budget so I was going to throw out some suggestions. Thanks
