there are VERY VERY GORY SCENES in this movie.

in the whole scheme of things, it was good, but bland at moments. then there are the violent scenes. some things worth going through life without.

id say pass. even as a rental. i want to share this with you as a fair warning and hoping that you didnt have to go through what i have.

Based on several comments here, I bought this movie and watched it last night. Though Towen tried to revoke my Man Card, I thought this was a pretty good movie. Good music, outstanding vocals and a cast full of good looking women (well, mostly). What's not to like?

^ Unfortunately I was so busy with my Thanksgiving prep I wasn't able to view this with Zing, but, I did hear a lot of the musical talent. I like Anna Kendrick, she is a Kate Spade girl, appears in video and promotions for the company. Very familiar with her musical talent. I definitely want to see this. Hopefully, Zing will want to view it a second time.

Zing was watching movies while you were doing all the work?!?!

I guess that means he deserves to get his man-card back.

A few I've seen this weekend.

Ant Man was an okay movie not as exciting as Avengers but was worth watching. Awesome special effects.

Maze Runner Scorch Trials I really liked this one just as good as the first Maze Runner with a mad Max zombie great escape vibe to the movie. Really liked it.

Transporter Reloaded was more of a made for TV movie with a budget. Really miss Jason Statham but I'm sure he read the script and was like "are you kidding"? Leave your brain at the door movie rental at best.

Minions. They're great in small doses but a whole movie kinda drags on.

Fantastic Four. 8/10 of the movie was leading up to how they got their powers then the last 2/10 was fighting Dr. Doom no wonder it tanked at the box office.

Mission Impossible Rogue Nation. Much like the other films. Good action quick pace, Tom Cruise was insane doing that plane stunt himself. I liked it but then again ive liked all the MI movies with the exception of MI 2 which sucked balls.

Ted 2 not as good as the first but three or four LOL holding your sides funny scenes. Worth watching if you have a sick sense of humor and nothing else to watch.

Joy... have to say a great story... one powerful woman. What can you say Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and De Niro. Other good perfomances Edgar Ramirez, Diane Ladd. Check it out.

Every year I send off a donation to PBS, and usually get some good video disks and/or books as "thank-yous". These last couple days I'm working through 5 DVD's I got, all nature documentaries from here in the desert Southwest. They are:
1. Desert Dreams, on the Sonoran Desert (one of my favorite locations on the planet)
2. Yellowstone Serenade,
3. Utah Serenade,
4. Red Rock Serenade, (Utah's string of National Parks plus Grand Canyon), and
5. Grand Canyon Serenade.
I normally get the Bluray versions, but none of these were available on that format; still, extremely beautiful.

Watched the restored 30th Anniversary Edition of Close Encounters of the Third Kind with my older daughter today. That movie held up surprisingly well. The pacing is a little slower than most current movies, but was very much in keeping with movies from that era. It does not feel nearly as dated as I expected it to.

Sorry, malsackj, you had to watch it last Friday to be cool. Watching it any other day just makes you some schmo who has seen Jurassic World. :teasing-tease:

Just watched Princess Bride for the Nth time... still awesome. What I didn't remember, and what was a big revelation this time around, is that Mark Knopfler did the score! That's awesome.

I have always been a big Dr. Dre fan. A lot of the NWA, Death Row Records history came back to me. I luv Snoop Dog as well. The NWA were a group that defined a generation. Sometimes violent and angry, but well within their right. Judged, because of what they stood for in their music.

As far as casting, most were spot on, except for Snoop Dog and Suge Knight. The casting crew could have done a much better job finding better suited actors.

I wasn't crazy about the casting for Snoop Dogg but I thought Suge was ok.
