What Movie(s) Did You Watch Today?

Hate to admit it Babs but I loved this movie and the sequel. That weird Asian chick is hilarious.

Whole family watched this tonight, good movie! I love Meryl Streep.

i loved spectre.

its not the strongest, but man, it was a fun ride.

wore a grey suit, a blue grey necktie, and a white pocket square (a first for me, since i love my suit pockets to be kept sewn)...

^ I have watched this many times. Enjoyed the storyline probably because I luv the fashion world.

Meryl Steep IS always a class act and Adrian Grenier is pretty easy on my eyes!

Finished this with the family - first time the kids have seen it (watched the first two a while back, we have the whole set on BD).

And the best part for me this time around was, which I had no memory of, was ZZ top without sunglasses!

The netflix-original sequel to Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, pretty good movie. Maybe not quite as good as the original, but still very entertaining. And what's more, my daughters - somewhat surprisingly, to me - actually enjoyed it a lot. So I'm thinking maybe it's time for a martial arts movie day tomorrow - original Crouching Tiger, and maybe Hero; the actor (Donnie Yen) of the main guy in Sword of Destiny was also one of the main characters in Hero. And I didn't realize until browing imdb, he's also the star of the Ip Man series.

Has anyone here seen Shaolin Soccer? It looks dumb enough to be excellent. :shhh:

seen it several times. great movie, but Stephen's humor is somewhat of an acquired taste. you might also be interested in God of cookery (which is also on streaming Netflix)

good way to past the time.

Karen Mok is prettier than people think she is.

was going to mention this earlier, going to watch this tonight. woot!

Just finished (re)watching the original Crouching Tiger, yeah definitely a better movie but I still enjoyed Sword of Destiny, as it follows up on the main woman's life (Shu Lien).

And... now finished watching Hero (again with the kids). I still maintain this is one of the best, most artistic, martial arts movies ever made. I absolutely love it.

And, I want to say, I'm particularly impressed by how my 9 and 12 yo daughters not only sat through but seemed to enjoy and understand three excellent movies over the past two days.

wife and i saw this last night.

going to get this out first, to be fair, this was not created by the original director, screenwriter and/or production company. this is essentially a western version of it. spoken in english and not in chinese. its directed by yuen woo ping, known for iron monkey and some jackie chan movies.

storyline itself is good, a continuation to the original movie 16 years later, sort of like an add on or a television series version of it. CGI tho was good, action a bit on the unbalanced side, but well done nonetheless.

i enjoyed it, but my mistake was i came in with high expectations with the movie. but still a good show.

glad it was on netflix streaming.

^-- Jomari, we watched it in Chinese (with subtitles of course)... I think Netflix gives you the option to have either original Chinese or dubbed English.

wait, are we referring to the original one or the second one?

the second one ....

which we did, wifey was dumbfounded at times since what was said and what was subtitled, wasnt what they 'meant'.

xue ping is the real name of snow vase. they couldve used that instead, but i guess it was to point out her connection to the 'scene'.

and a couple of other things well, a bit off. anyways, it still was doable and watchable.

i also think it was recorded natively in english and gives us the ability to watch dubbed chinese.

Legend

very nice movie. been a tom hardy fan for a while now, first in star trek as shinzon, then more appealing was Bronson.

this movie was great, enjoyable and well, at times a bit of a let down, but still worth a rental.

i also watched

Black Mass

wierd to see johnny depps eyes like that, but it was a good movie. again, not the best, but a good movie nonetheless.

ive started to like joel edgertons material, but ironically havent seen the warrior, which includes tom hardy and him as well.

by the way, black mass was super heavy on the boston accent, some good, some bad.
