What Movie(s) Did You Watch Today?

Watched Green Lantern last night. Sure am glad I didn't waste my money on seeing this in the theater.

Bought a bunch of Blurays yesterday and the GF has never seen "The Blues Brothers" so that's the plan this weekend.

It killed me to wait until now to see this!

I always try to avoid reviews or even talking about movies before I them, but I heard that Captain America was disappointing. That was a load of crap. Captain America was fantastic.

Finally saw X-men first class, enjoyed it very much! I thought they did a good job with the development of the various characters (for the most part), esp. the whole Xavier/Erik relationship. Kevin Bacon as the big bad guy was a little hard to swallow, but overall I thought he did a pretty respectable job.

And the 15 second "cameo" by Wolverine was kind of amusing. ;)

I loved it and everyone I know that has seen it really likes it - even those not into "super hero" movies.

We thought this one was good (for $4.99)!

Wow! I wasn't expecting much and was still disappointed, this came off like a flick that should've gone straight to disc....pretty bad.

I almost picked that up at the rental place yesterday - glad I passed on it.

I'm disappointed in this. While I hadn't planned on buying it, was hoping it was a worthy rental.

POTC: On Stranger Tides

Like this one - better than 2 and 3 IMO though it did seem to lag at the end. Glad to be rid of Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly.

^Cool! I picked it up last week but haven't watched it. I'm glad to hear you think its better than the last 2, at least it sounds like I can count on being entertained...

We watched this last night on BD, Nice twist to the story on this one.

I watched two pretty good movies this weekend.

"Shaolin" was the first. Pretty good movie with some decent fight scenes. Watched on BD which has both subtitled and dubbed versions. Just noticed this morning it was added to NF instant streaming yesterday. recommended particularly if you are a fan of Asian movies.

"Stake Land" - A very good flick and not your typical vampire/zombie movie. It reminded me alot of "Walking Dead". More of a drama with a solid story line, but still plenty of undead killing. I definitely recommend this one.

I watched 3 movies this weekend that had been sitting on the dvr for a little while: Narnia, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Battlefield LA, and Due Date.

Due Date was ok and had a few laughs, but felt more of a remake. Battlefield LA, again was ok, but Aron Eckhart(sp) I felt was miscast and it would have been nice if they would have at least a little background on the aliens. The 3rd installment of the Narnia series on the other hand, I enjoyed that one alot. Nothing is ever going to touch the first one, but this seemed to get back to the magic of Narnia more than the second one, although it did get a bit preachy at the end.

On a side note, something has always bothered me with the first Narnia. I vaguely remember when reading the book in 3rd grade, that the uncle of whoever they went to live with, was a half man, half goat creature in the end of the book. The movie did not show that, or is it all made up in my mind.

Huey that's all in your mind. The Uncle visited Narnia only once and the half goat man was the first creature that the little girl meets who winds up betraying her to gain favor to the ice princess.

btw Voyage of the Dawn Trader was the worst of the three movies imo. Best was the second than the first, I was insulted by the third.

Transformers Dark of the Moon.

Good actions and special effects. Lots of deep bass. Matt, you will love this disc.
The weak link? Dialogues (content). They are horrible. :handgestures-thumbdown: Michael Bay must be hiring intern screenwriter for his movies.

I give it 2 out of 5 stars. Only good for some demo materials.

^ Can you believe Spielberg just about has Michael Bay convinced to do a fourth?!?!?
