What Movie(s) Did You Watch Today?

^ My belief is that the studio is thinking "franchise reboot"...

Columbiana

Good action/revenge flick and Zoe Saldana makes it worth the price of admission and a worthy rental. Big question is why did they title it "Columbiana"?

Contagion

Decent world epidemic flick. If it is an accurate portrayal of how things would work in an incident like the one shown it is a bit scary. Good rental but don't watch if you have a cold or the flu.

was going to watch contagion earlier, but i rented it via psn or my playstation.

didnt know i had to 'download' it firsthand to 'watch' or rent it...

anyways, im watching sherlock holmes, man... my heads ringing with the amount of bass it has...

contagion good mzpro?

Every person who is able to vote should be required to watch the documentary. This was my third time, and I'll watch it again just before the election in November. If your blood boils easily, don't watch this documentary.

Rope

Cowboys & Aliens

Not bad. Special effects are good as usual these days. I was pleasantly surprised by the audio quality. As mz mentioned before, it's MattB's movie. Yes, Matt, it's got plenty of ass rumbling bass. :violence-pistoldouble: :violence-rocket:
My only gripe, if asked, is the length. It could have been 10 - 15 minutes shorter. Other than that, it was entertaining.

I watched Cowboys and Aliens a few months ago on my computer and it sucked. Have no interest in renting it. Not even with the future ex Mrs. B. Olivia Wilde in it. Terrible movie.

Yeah but the audio quality Matt. You are missing out. :eusa-whistle:

I forgot another gripe. I'm not sure if it's the director's or marketing department's decision but the rental disc I watched only has theatrical version. I clicked on extended version and it shows a message saying something about not available on rental disc and purchase disc has it in addition to extras features. WTF, is this what Blu-rays are coming to now?

I actually have no problem with this, as long as they are upfront about it. With the popularity of Netflix and Redbox, I can see why the studios would want to differentiate between the rental market and the buying market.

I watched via Amazon streaming and had the option for either one.

watched 'Season of the Witch' with Nicolas cage via netflix,

not bad, but definitely a 'b' movie. entertaining for a couple of hours, and well, at least his hair looked tolerable.

i did tho, applaud hellboys performance. i forgot his name already...

Ron Perlman

Finally got around to watching Black Swan last night. Interesting movie... not sure I totally understood it, but thought Portman did a pretty good job of being (AFAICT) completely insane.

Thanks Mzpro,

Ive also seen Ron Perlman in a number of movies, one of my favorites is Cronos. Did a pretty good one there.

Oh and Aliens Ressurection. Despite how bad the story was, he did a good job in that one.

Uh... Pauly, guys watch this movie for something else... Hint, Mila. :eusa-whistle:

Ok so there were a few scenes with umm... a certain... male interest. My wife watched it with me, though, so I don't have to feel guilty. :eusa-whistle:

The fact you willingly watched "Black Swan" all the way through instead of just queuing up that one scene and one scene only you should feel guilty well that and those photos of you sitting at Bats GTG. :eusa-whistle:

Saw it the other night and felt that it's a lost opportunity. Could have been better. First half was decent but the second half just fell apart. The images got real dark (literally) and choreograph was weak and at times it was stupid.
Jason Momoa's acting was better than Arnold can ever dream of doing but the overall movie (entertainment value), I would have to rate it below 1982 version.

And the female lead looks a lot like a young Jodie Foster.
That's Rachel Nichols and externally she is far better than Jodie Foster (they are in different leagues).

Rachel:
5'-10", 34C-24-34, model / actress

Jodie:
5'-3", 34B (on a good day)-24-33, actress

Assassination Games with Jean Claude, Was really surprised at just how good this movie was considering all the bad JCVD movies in the past few years, but this one had a good story and alot of action. Highly worth a rental (also on Amazon on Demand). Buddy of mine gave me about 80 movies on my portable hard drive and this was one of them and I really liked it.

Finally watched it. Certainly much better than Conan The Barbarian. It's interesting way to initiate the franchise.

Is it just me that the name "Botch" keeps popping up in mind during the second half of this movie?
