Hockey. Fights. Blood.
FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
Throw in a lot of laughs a way too much swearing and I WAS HOOKED!

This movie was highly entertaining if you like any of the afformentioned items!!!

I had been keeping my eye out in case this showed up in Bluray at Redbox, and saw yesterday it was on Amazon Prime. I thought it was really good! I wouldn't say Sean William Scott is a great actor my any means, but I have never seen a movie that he has been in that I didn't like.

Watched this last night. Pretty good, I enjoyed it. Downey's still not my favorite actor in the world, but the movie was well done overall. I wish they had done a little more with Noomi, she's very good. I'm gonna have to go back and read the Sherlock Holmes stories again, it's been a LONG time - I was probably in high school last time I read any.

Not today, last night and no graphics with the post.. On IFC last night watched Rambo First Blood Part 2. good old shoot em up Stallone in his prime classic.

I couldn't read Doyle, even pre-drinking-age. The dialog became too difficult to follow.

I thought it was going to be really dumb, but I ended up laughing my buns off! Good stuff if you are looking for humor and not substance!

Watched this one tonight, agreed it's pretty funny. And I never watched the original tv show - my wife did though, and explained enough of it to me that Johnny Depp's cameo was pretty friggin' hilarious.

Pauly did you grow up living under a rock? Btw all the original cast had cameos in that movie. Johnny Depp and Peter DeLuise were the undercover cops, Holly Robinson was the cop who issued them the sports car and Dustin Nguyen was the guy playing on TV during the final shoot out. Was a staple of TV viewing during the 80's

Where was the captain tho?

For what its worth, Daniel Nguyen is currently a host for a vietnamese version of a tv show here, Holly is, well, holly is on some sitcom, Johnny depps rich, and Peter Deluise was the main reason why Johnny depp is on. (he would only agree if his good friend Peter would be on it - who is by the way the son of Dom Deluise)

i was pleased to watch this one over the weekend. very nice movie. not as amazing as tintin nor as hugo, but well done movie.

i understand that this was a 'tween' or middle reader paperback, and it transcended to film showing that - a good buffet of everything sprinkled with a little too much romantic tone for my taste.

worth the purchase?

the tribute canon scenes alone are worth it. the surrounds on that movie, was amazingly beautiful. not MAC status, but close to it.

visuals, well, reminds me of disney for some reason. im sorry, i kinda threw up a bit thinking of sky high again.

good movie.

Quo Vadis

There is a good chance that everyone knows this movie and what an epic one this is! Released in 1951, it predates other classic epic movies of antiquity like Helen of Troy (1956), Ben Hur (1959) and Cleopatra (1963). It's claimed to be the lead in movie to those classics.

Brief synopses from IMDB: "A fierce Roman general becomes infatuated with a beautiful Christian hostage and begins questioning the tyrannical leadership of the despot Emperor Nero."

I remember seeing some pieces of it on TV when I was little but this time I got to see the whole thing (2 hr 51 min.) "Wow" is all I can say, especially considering it came out in 1951. The Blu-ray transfer is pretty good even though there are some areas around the edge that showed distortions (part of original maybe?). Color is fantastic and audio is... well, it's mono but I played it via stereo. Story and action is all time classic. Performance by yesteryear's stars is something worth a revisit. 4 of the leading actors/actress are no longer around.
5 stars out of 5 from me. :handgestures-thumbup:

DVR'd this from the free Cinemax weekend from DirecTV.

It was not horrible, I am glad that we did not buy it!

We enjoyed this one, just like the first one, I think that watching it again will bring a lot more of it together.

I have to disagree - it was horrible. :happy-smileygiantred:

It's ok popcorn movie. It could have been better if some CIG were upgraded and a minute or two of editing at the end. It's got little bit of Tron Legacy, Star Wars (IV), Star Trek (2009), detective mystery, romance and politics. Maggie Grace looks good in this movie. Nothing major. 2.5 stars out of 5 from me.

Watched Kick Ass again tonight, just for the fun of it. Great movie!
