Game spoiler/cheat below so look away!!!!!!!

Has anyone else found the 1 bullet trading glitch?
You can pretty much buy everything you want for free.
Just google it.

There is a side quest for a vault that has remained intact, and I met a trader at the beginning of the sidequest before the vault opening, and she had a gun for sale, Spray and Pray, that shoots bullets that explode on contact. Buy this gun. It uses 10 mm ammo, which is really common, and does a ton of damage. I haven't taken on a deathclaw with it yet, but it took out one of those Chinese bears very easily.

spray n pray also comes as a submachine gun, and is upgradeable to a .45 caliber. great gun for ghouls or for a quick room cleaner.

Yup. works well after learning how to do the trick. I admit, ive used it a bit to 'sustain' my settlements.

Up to level 31, 4 power armors, a big boy, 3 fatmans, a ton of missle launchers.

Got into pipers pants, and well... what more is there.

Oh yeah, about 16 settlements with about 80% happiness.

Jomari the Janitor they call me.

Still a great game, a great contender for GOTY against Witcher 3.

My son Zach BEGGED me to gather up some old games and trade them at GameStop two nights ago. I know nothing about the game, aside from the Batman Arkham & Zelda series I've really been out of the loop. Zach is really happy though.

Bats, I am happy to report this game has no copulation scenes whatsoever, not like Gerald the gigolo in Witcher 3.

a good amount of cussing tho, but tolerable in my opinion.

Yes, I meant submachine gun for the Spray and Pray, Jomari.

I did not know about the 1 bullet thing, I'll have to google it. Thanks

Haven't started this yet, but you guys are making me anxious to get going!

Finished Dragon Age Inquisition - liked that one a lot - and am now doing AC Syndicate. Fallout's next... hopefully the price will have dropped a bit by then, also part of the reason I've delayed. And to let a few rounds of patches happen.

Hey Pauly, do I remember correctly that you were into playing Borderlands? I picked up the double game pack for $25, but haven't opened it yet. Is it any good?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE borderlands! One of my top favorite games, yes. All of them (1, 2, pre-sequel).

great game to play couch co-op with, if you want the missus to get interested into games, this is the one you can do together. Don't worry about 'im not good at shooting' because there are two characters respectively that can use ranged attacks that help 'disperse' enemies while you do the work.

Thanks Pauly and Jomari. If it wasn't for the price, I probably would have passed on Borderlands, since I just started playing Fallout 4, but I thought I remembered Pauly raving about it, and probably sometime next spring I'll open it after finishing Fallout.

depends if fallout gets even out of your system.

fallout 3 squeezed a good 800 hours out of my life, this ones going around 4 days worth, and i aint even doing certain missions.

^^
You ain't kidding Jomari! I've got over 2 days on it just from playing the last 3 or 4 weekends. It's so easy to get sidetracked from a quest when you find a new area with possible new loot.

BTW, does anybody know if you can sell the magazines that give you extra points in your skills? Do you lose the points if you sell the magazine?

Anybody else find the synths creepy as fuck? I found a key to the Boston Mayoral Bunker bathroom randomly in a house in an area with a bunch of Super Mutants, so then had to find the Bunker to see what the fuss was about. Was quite a bit away from where I found the key, but the area was loaded with synths and a deathclaw kind of guarding a fatman. If you go there, the security terminals to unlock some loot rooms, are I think the hardest of the game, and I haven't hit the requirements yet to unlock them. I'll have to go back when I level up.

i see why not. essentially, ive considered doing that, but it doesnt add weight anyways, so i didnt bother. its nice to keep, but like the companion perks, they stay with you after you attained them.

thats why

SPOILER ALERT

SPOILER ALERT

you have to get piper early in the game to get a higher xp advantage during speech checks and finding new locations.

two last things,

when playing bethesda, always follow three golden rules.

rule. #1

save.

rule #2

save.

rule #3

save.

you also have the lovers romance perk even after you leave them at a certain area. for example, i got into pipers pants recently, travelled to combat zone and got fake irish chatty cait. i still go to where piper is at so i can sleep with HER, and pretty much still get my lovers romance perk with it.

Synthes?

Ive seen them, but im so early into the game (despite at level 33), i havent even done anything to them. ive encountered them and children of atom and they were hostile so... my 50 cal surpressed recon medium scope met them with a surprise at 3.5x sneak damage.

Anyone did the kid in the fridge mission? good stuff.

The cool thing about game is that everyone can have such unique experiences.

I need to get back to having Piper with me. I have maxed out relations with both Valentine and Deacon so I should work on Piper.

I agree on the need to save often, but it has also burned me. I was in a knock down drag out fight with one of The Forged and I quicksaved the moment before one of them torched me with a flamethrower. I kept getting killed the second I regenerated. I eventually got into the Pip Boy fast enough to slam a few Stimpaks. Thought I was screwed on that one.

I've fought a bunch if Synthes and yeah they are kinda creepy. There are lots of creeps in this game.

The only disappointment I have in this game are the graphics. They really aren't up to snuff. If you don't believe me, pop in Witcher 3 to remind yourself what these consoles are capable of these days. It doesnt take too much away from the experience but it would be nice to have Witcher 3 level graphics in this game IMO.

thats the thing with save points.

i dont depend on autosave, and quite frankly if i remember right, i had challenges with it previously on NV and 3 too. so i use the good ol save by myself method. if its REALLY important, i go butt naked and steer the camera around to show meself, and then save. at least when i stare at the picture, the selfie explains it.

true true, but i guess if we wanted graphics galore AND the scope of this game? then we'd be asking for trouble. its a matter of opinion regarding the graphics part, but id rather have a smoother, less jitter and errors with a mediocre graphics setting than a maxed out gorgeous playthrough but only get to play it almost 30 minutes in until it crashes.

good example for me was shadows of mordor. i loved that game. i really did like it on the ps3, but it couldnt handle how beautiful it was, and despite its bogged down graphics, well... it just needed more power to make it work well enough for a fluid experience.

i do want it to look like witcher 3, and quite frankly, CD Projekt red is a great example of a company who values their customer. listening and patching things along the way, even giving us humorous responses to glitch users (cow hides and pearl lovers) and yet in a humorous manner. it wasnt spanking our hand when we did it, instead, evened the playing field.

anyways, whos deacon? i havent seen him yet. :(

Deacon is part of the Railroad faction. You need to do the Freedom Trail quest to get to the Railroad people.

The Boston Mayoral Shelter is south of Sanctuary on the west side of the map, just south of the blood bank if you have found that. Be prepared, there is a deathclaw and the synthes are very aggressive. The key to the mayors personal bathroom is in a town named something heights, that is over run with super mutants. It's kind of in the middle of the map, and it seems like I discovered the place on some boathouse quest.

Anybody else getting repeat quests, sorta, from Preston? I've gotten the kidnapping from somewhere beach for the third time now, although it is a different spot you need to rescue the girl from every time.

I was thinking the same thing about the graphics. It looks better than previous Fallouts, but they do pale in comparison to some of the other games out there. It does seem to play smoothly though, so maybe that's what they had to do to make the game so huge.

Also, is it just me, or did they make lock picking harder? The bobby pins seem to break much easier, and I can't wait until I have a high enough level to pick the unbreakable bobby pin perk.

prestons quest normally repeats itself over and over until you end up doing the castle. i havent done castle yet.

i think this is the compromise tho, in order for it to run smoothly, it has some degree of setbacks, and in typical fallout fashion, people still dont look like their in 2000.

Also, is it just me, or did they make lock picking harder? The bobby pins seem to break much easier, and I can't wait until I have a high enough level to pick the unbreakable bobby pin perk.

lockpicking is a bitch. i used to be good at it, very smooth action, but this ones a bit 'gritty' id have to say. im unlocking expert at times, but breaking 3 pins at most. on that topic, dont waste a perk on 'never breaking a bobby pin'. theyre cheap enough and easy to encounter, heck i have about 300 already stored up.

chatty cait isnt letting me in... *sigh* want to so get rid of her, but at times no either. its nice the companions tho arent as dull as they used to be, and quite frankly great stories on the back end. too bad they cant get out of the way when we want them to. thats ONE thing that new vegas got right. having you determine the companions distance and aggressiveness towards an enemy.

I did the castle yesterday, and be forewarned, it's a bitch. I won't say why, but a fat man or at least missiles will come in very handy. And like you said, save often during it. BTW, a little tip, and maybe the game tells you after you complete the mission, but when it comes time to power up the radio tower, it takes two medium sized generators to do it. I ended up just building a small one at first, but that would place anywhere around it.

I have yet to travel with a companion except for Dogmeat. I took the Lone Wanderer perk, which allows 50 pounds more gear when you travel without a companion, excluding Dogmeat. Although, the one complaint I have about Dogmeat, he seems to always be in the way when you are in a building.

It also seems like they have increased the number of enemies that you find in your travels, especially near towns. I don't ever remember seeing Raider camps right next Super Mutant camps in the other games. I find myself crouching in towns most of the time.
