Fallout 4 - War Never Changes/ Fallout shelter

early in the game its actually fun to have a companion...

spoiler alert...

after a bit of favor you can actually gain certain perks from them. for example with piper as i said earlier, you get more xp to every speech check you succeed in. with percey i think you get better range damage, i think 20 percent. after a bit they get boring, but i think im early in the game enough to get it out of the way.

goal for today is hit the castle.

yup, my character isnt the lone wanderer, but the humpback wanderer since he crouches so much...

What kind of weapons are you guys working with? I have 3 go-to weapons.

1. Recoil Compensated Advanced Shotgun - Deals 156 Damage and holds 34 rounds with a fast fire rate. I can get 2 shots off in VATS.
2. .50 Cal Marksman Sniper Rifle - Deals something like 116 damage and has nice range with night vision scope. This one also can do 2 shots in VATS
3. 10mm modded gun. Deals 56 damage with extreme high fire rate and extended magazine for 24 rounds. I can shoot about 5 in VATS

If I had these weapons when I did the castle then it would have been a breeze.

I think the shotgun I have modded so far, only does 75 in damage, and I have a modded sniper rifle, but that is only a .308 I believe, and does about the same damage as a shotgun. My absolutely favorite gun is the Spray and Pray, but I find myself using quite a bit of ammo. Somewhere along the way, I've picked up Righteous Authority, which is a laser rifle. It's not the best in close quarters, but the recoil is minimal, so when you have something like a super mutant coming after you, it's easy to just keep blasting away and most of the shots will connect.

Just read that they have patched the cap flaw, so you might want to skip the update, if you can. Not sure you can skip the updates and keep playing.

unfortunately, my ps4 automatically updated it. its such a small patch you wouldn't see it if you blinked.

IF you want to , you can delete your game application data (not your saved data), go offline and reload your game again. then start hoarding as much as you want as possible. then go back online when you are ready.

I hadn't quite figured out the cap thing, so no big deal for me.

Its N essential part for those who play Minecraft in fallout. I liked the settlement idea, but lost a bit of interest after all my efforts couldn't get a good happiness level.

Ok I've finished AC Syndicate (good game but maybe not one of the best in the AC franchise), now time for Fallout 4! Installing now. I'm excited! I hope this is worth it... I tried Fallout 3 and just couldn't get into it. But then I liked Fallout New Vegas quite a lot. Hopefully 4 is just as good if not better.

Hey pauly,

your on pc right? hoping your experience is awesome. There are new mechanics to the game, but not in my opinion essential to the fluidity of the game.

Give it some time, and hoping that this one turns out better for you.

Going back online in a few.

YESTERDAY, DECEMBER 10TH WAS THE FIRST EVER DAY I DID NOT PLAY FALLOUT 4 SINCE NOVEMBER 09,2015.

Ha! Yeah just started, have only played a bit but seems to be much like F-NV so far, in terms of overall mechanics.

Oh and I love the classical music station! :music-listening:

I had read that if you changed the date to Christmas Day, that Christmas lights would show up in Diamond City. It looks like it wasn't only on Christmas day as there have been lights on there most of the week. Pretty cool.

Heads up, there is something, mirelurk maybe, but it's name is Swan and as long as you don't mess with him, he won't mess with you, I think. If you decide to take him on, a fat man works, but it still is going to take some skill, and pray you don't miss. I first tried with a missile launcher, and a direct hit only did about 10% damage. You get a bunch of xp and he has some unique items on him, so it's worthy to take him out.

Currently helping the railroad, which for some strange reason I imagined them as a group trying to get the railroad back running, not a synth smuggling operation.

dude spoiler.

:eek:bscene-buttred:

kidding aside, im still trying to figure out which faction I want to start with. Railroad is my current choice, but im working on helping all the 'companions' to get rid of them.

curie is hot.

Was that a spoiler? I'm sorry if it was. As near as I can tell, I probably would have never even seen him until I hit my vats near him. I almost felt bad as he lights up green, it isn't until you start messing with him that he turns red in vats.

Curie? The only Curie I've come across was one of those Mr. Hotsy models, and she is a scientist working in one the vaults, and she can be your companion. I'm traveling with I believe Carrie or at least I think that's her name. Picked her up on Combat Road sidequest, and she's handy at picking locks, but my lockpicking skill is higher.

The biggest complaint I have, is that the game is so big and has so many sidequests, it's hard to feel like you are accomplishing anything. And yes, I'm playing in wuss mode, er I mean Easy, which I know you don't get as much experience points and less likely chance of Legendary weapons, but unlike previous fallouts, there are a bunch of more bad guys out there in the commonwealth.

spoiler about the railroad and smuggling synthes.... its okay tho bro, I kinda knew about their relationship.

anyways, curie is the ms. handy, but I will let you discover more later on. have her as a companion, you will be tickled frenchy. :happy-smileygiantred:

Caite is the one from Combat Zone, shes great too, and I love her sidequest. absolutely a blast travelling with her, but my favorite is still Piper for some reason, and nick. Nicks voice reminds me of someone I just cant peg who.

Anyways, I tried the BOS faction, and well... reverted back, not my cup of tea right now. besides, I was BoS before already, so time for a new struggle.

We are talking about the same Currie, the one you find in the clean vault. Cait is the only one I've travelled with, except for Nick to advance the story. I did have sex though, but not with Cait. All I'll say is it can happen as part of a sidequest for Calbot.

I think, though not sure, Nick is voiced by James Woods.

Edit: Nope, just checked, some guy named Stephen Russel. He sounds like James Woods though.

we ARE talking about the same curie. i just dont want to ruin the experience for you.

travel with her and get her to like you enough she will ask you to do her sidequest.

thats the beauty of this game, we all have different experiences with it, and learn a lot more about it through other peoples experiences too.

dont google it, just try to travel with her and spend a day or two with her.

do you dump your companions somewhere specific? ive heard dogmeat goes missing in certain areas, so i kept him and everyone else in sanctuary.

i might move my main base into the castle tho, or one of the other places. ive been neglecting my settlers.

I've been putting everybody in sanctuary as well, might be time for some more beds. lol I agree that the openness of Fallout is what makes it great, but it also can be a little off putting at times as well. I look at my quest list, and I feel like I almost have a chore list to do.

I haven't been building or taking care of my settlements as well, but I'm not looking to play Minecraft as well. That's the one part of the game I wish they had left out, although it doesn't seem to affect gameplay.
