I guess we would give this one a 7 out of 10???
That's about what I would give it. Entertaining.

I would give the movie a 5-6 but like you I really liked the aspect ratio.

hehehe.

i guess i can say i appreciate the whole artsy 'director' intended all that jazz stuff, but man, somedays, just some days i would truly appreciate to use all of my tvs real estate.

I hear ya, I love it when my 106" screen is used to its full potential.

Watched Zack and Miri Make a Porno last night. I found it pretty damn funny and IMO one os Kevin Smith's best.

tried to post something last night, but my router was giving me headaches. :(

anyways, watched Phil collins on blu-ray, live in montreaux (sorry canadian brothers, too lazy to spell)...

i LOVE all his recently released dvds, man some are reference material imo...

but this one, well...

1. phil collins microphone felt muted, like i was struggling to listen to him sing.
2. bass was lacking (read: matt)...

had to pop in another concert movie...

adele live in albert f*ckin hall.

i have to admit, im not a big fan of adele (hear me out), not because shes not good (which i didnt say), but because they overplay her songs, and loses that glamor that couldve been.

anyways, man i was blown away. aMAZING blu-ray.

Saw The Hunger Games last Saturday with wife and a couple friends. I think I'm the only one who was really disappointed in this one. I'm not familiar with the book(s), but I'm told they're written for teens. I could tell, there are WAY too many convenient plot twists that I found to be incredibly predictable. Id go as far to say it came off as written for teens by a twelve-year-old. I'm clearly in the minority but I just don't get the hype machine on this one...

:scared-yipes: WTF!!!

We watched this last night on BR..........

For those of you that have seen it............what else can I say........(I will need to watch again)! :naughty:

Yeah, it's an odd one. I guess it's pretty well done for its type of story... but... yeah.

^ The girl on girl segment was a brilliant idea IMO. It gets more (normal) guys to watch a movie about a ballet dancer thus increasing the revenue. I for one, wouldn't have watched it if it wasn't for that. A buddy of mine who happens to be a fan of Mila Kunis said the same thing.

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance

I was in a mood for a classic western and got this from Netflix. Wow, 1962 movie this good, makes you think what happened to Hollywood with all the crap movies coming out for 5 decades since. Can't the directors and producers learn from precedents?

Anyway, it's not just a shoot-em-up western action movie but has deeper meanings about political and moral implications. I noticed it by chance that this is a good movie to watch in an election year. 4 stars out of 5 (only because it's little over 2 hours long).

very very interesting, i didnt know james stewart did westerns... i'll give it a shot. thanks!

Are you kidding? He did a sh!t load of western and most of them are considered top rated western movies.
Destry Rides Again, Broken Arrow, Winchester '73, Bend of the River, The Naked Spur, The Man from Laramie, The Far Country, Night Passage, How the West Was Won, Cheyenne Autumn, Shenandoah, The Rare Breed.

Don't forget the Cheyenne Social Club, one of my favorite western films!

I knew nothing about the movie at all, didn't even read the BR info, so I was shocked at how dark the movie was (not physically dark).

I thought that Portman did an awesome job, however way to skinny (but good for the part) and I like thin girls............

The lesbo scene did add an interesting twist.

A second and maybe a third watch will be required to catch all that I missed during the first viewing........

I usually don't get this way about movies, however this one did it to me.

Another one in the past was ...............

Watched THE THING "remake" last night, despite the bad reviews I found it pretty entertaining. As a matter of fact if not for the just "OK" CGI the film was well done. Worth a rental anyways.
